WINTER WELLNESS TIPS

HELLO, I’m still alive! If you’ve noticed by my non-existent social media presence over the past week, I got hit [hard] with the flu and haven’t left my bed since. There’s something going around Vancouver — A nasty bug that’s got practically everyone I know, dropping like flies.

More than the pain and discomfort, this came as a serious setback mentally. I had just come off holidays and our family trip to Hawaii and felt well-rested and pumped to tackle my plans for the new year.

But my body had other plans. It was super frustrating and all I wanted to do, was anything I could to feel better. Since we’re still in the thick of winter (and this bug is still making it’s rounds), here’s a list of remedies that helped me get well. Hoping it’ll help someone going through the same thing!

A FEW THINGS THAT HELPED ME GET OVER THE FLU

+ immunity boosting supplements (I took Cold-fx)
+ vitamin C supplements & lots of fresh oranges
+ hydrate: water, coconut water & sports drinks for electrolytes
+ daily green smoothies for greens & nutrients
+ fruit popsicles for sore throat
+ rest
+ hot bath/shower
+ facial steamer: to help loosen up my chest
+ diffuser with essential oils running (immune)
+ rock salt lamp for comfort/well-being
+ candles
+ cozy robe & slippers
