I’ve been feeling all nostalgic lately.
Blame the SmartSweets candies for taking me WAY back to my childhood days of sour patch kids and swedish fish (but seriously, have you tried their plant based candy?? It’s TOO good. But totally irrelevant, here).
Anyway, the other day I was thinking about how fun it was, back in elementary school when V-day rolled around and you could count on going home with your bag loaded with Hersey kisses and a valentine’s card from everyone in your class. Just me?
With V-day coming up on Friday, I wanted to recreate this idea to surprise a few amazing women in my life. You know, as a fun way to send some love for the occasion. Not to say that random acts of kindness have to occur during set holidays, but hey – why not.
Scroll down to see exactly what I did:
STEP 1: ORDER MINTED MINI CARDS
You know I love getting my holiday cards printed from Minted, turns out Christmas cards aren’t the only holiday they cater to. They carry tons of really cute Valentines options to send out, including everything from photo cards, postcards or classroom Valentine’s. I ended up choosing three different designs and was able to customize them all (with stickers, my printed signature, colors & paper quality).
STEP 2: SOMETHING SWEET
My friend Danielle from Sprinkle & Whisk, makes THE most delicious cookies ever. Not only are they so damn good, they are visually just as stunning. She’s really talented! You could include anything, something sweet or even sour candies if you wanted. We came up with three fun cookies designs.
STEP 3: PACKAGE + SEND
The idea was to mail my packages out for delivery, so they needed to go in something cute, festive and durable. I picked up some little boxes from Michael’s along with some crinkle paper [to protect the cookies].
And there you have it!
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY
