2014 is quickly coming to a close & a fresh new year is ahead of us – time to refresh our fitness regime! I like to mix up my workouts & regularly do a mix of boxing, yoga and strength training, it’s always yielded the best results for me. Social Yoga just launched in early December, offering up a fresh new concept that I felt would be especially beneficially to busy working girls. At times it’s tough to balance full schedule’s with work out’s & social outings so usually one comes at the cost of the other. So why not fuse the two?
Anita is the owner, teacher and founder of The Social Yoga brand, redefining the idea of your typical yoga class. Social Yoga operates out of unconventional space; they focus on small groups and progressive classes designed to get you moving, connecting & digging deep.
What’s different about Social Yoga, is that being ‘social’ is totally encouraged! A progressive yoga class bringing people together for a great workout and raw conversation. Classes run over a 4-week period, popping up in interesting & unconventional spaces around town. Social Yoga fuses the physical poses of yoga with digging deep, learning more about ourselves and making connections with people we might not otherwise get to know – brilliant!
I got the opportunity to join in on the fun for the official concept launch. The yoga portion gave me just the right jolt of energy & clarity while the social portion opened up some new connections and personal growth for me. If you are feeling bored with your normal workout routine, and are craving something a little more zen, a little more social, I strongly encourage and recommend giving Social Yoga a try for something a little different and refreshing.
