I never was a morning person.
It’s taken me YEARS to get into a routine I felt good about. These days, instead of dreading my mornings I’ve put systems into place that help me start the day off on a good note.

On a typical morning…
I get up at 7am, put on my robe and immediately make the bed. I wash my face with my Clarisonic to get the circulation going, which really helps plump up the skin and erase fine lines. I have the Mia Smart beauty tool and am obsessed with using the firming massaging head to work in my serums and face oils to really get deep [I find my makeup sits much better on the skin this way]. The biggest lesson I’ve learned from skin experts is that hydration is KEY. When your skin is dehydrated you are more likely to see fine lines appearing – that’s not bc you have wrinkles, it’s bc you need to drink more water. Water is so important!
At this time, I make myself a massive glass of water. I add a scoop of collagen powder (I use Vital Proteins) and fresh lemon slices to support my hair, nails and skin at the same time. Since I’m not much of a big eater in the morning, I opt for a protein smoothie that my husband makes me every morning before he goes to work. Angel, I know.
Once I’ve cleansed and hydrated my face I start my makeup. I prefer to keep things pretty natural when it comes to makeup. I want to look awake, refreshed, youthful… If I’m staying close to home I’ll leave it at lip balm, mascara and a moisture cream (like my BB cream). If I’m shooting or heading to meetings I might put a bit more effort into it.
I’m a big fan of planning the night ahead, especially when it comes to outfits. I’ll look out my outfit so the only thing I have to think about in the morning is what accessories to add. Saves a lot of time.
Best kept secret:
The way you accessorize your outfit can totally change the whole vibe. I believe it’s not necessarily what you wear, but how you wear it. Even the tiniest details can elevate a relatively simple look.
Over the next couple days Ill be showing you how I style the pieces from my collection and mix and match them depending on the day and what I have going on. I want to show you how versatile they are and how they can work for any occasion. Lots more to come!
